This is obviously one great post. Thanks for the valuable information and insights you have so provided here. Getting cheap cordless phones that can assure you with excellent service can be obtained in many ways. I do grasp the general idea but as my knowledge in this field is a bit meager I need more information, i.e. a circuit plan or so to see how it's all put together. Thanks for any help!
DominikAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10790782222725492249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8710011163444542200.post-25348728931678986832013-01-21T12:27:07.496+00:002013-01-21T12:27:07.496+00:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14843170565949220346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8710011163444542200.post-85004251464979013562011-04-20T16:59:35.985+01:002011-04-20T16:59:35.985+01:00this is a great mod however if anyone is planing o...this is a great mod however if anyone is planing on making a Rotary DECT Phone, they should choose an eco DECT phone .
regular dect phones are a hazardjohnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06082923050391477663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8710011163444542200.post-38388233622141035972010-09-12T13:46:54.609+01:002010-09-12T13:46:54.609+01:00As a follow-up, I came across this Atmel app note ...As a follow-up, I came across this Atmel app note which seems to mirror the approach on handsets designed for low power consumption.
The link is http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resources/prod_documents/doc1232.pdfAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8710011163444542200.post-34884646621795556482010-09-10T03:15:32.742+01:002010-09-10T03:15:32.742+01:00Seems that the choice of DECT phone is a big facto...Seems that the choice of DECT phone is a big factor if you're looking to do something similar. I picked an old Siemens E450 and I've stumbled on two issues. The first is that the SMD PCB through holes are way too tiny to tag wires onto. Could be solved with a suitable PCB with a mirror of the keypad track pressed onto the carbon key tracks of the handset - but obviously this disables the original keypad. The second issue is that the keypad scan outputs do not output a pulse train continuously. The pulse train is only there when a key is pressed and it seems to be the same timing and counts for each of the 5 scanline outputs (it's a 5x5 matrix). This invalidates the approach taken here, if you're using this model of handset. I can only guess that the scanline output detects when it's connected to an input, then outputs the pulse train, which is read at the appropriate scanline input. Not really seen this kind of matrix key scan before and I am still struggling trying to coax the scanline outputs to spew out the pulse sequence under control of the arduino.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8710011163444542200.post-10659242716873743842010-02-10T14:38:40.123+00:002010-02-10T14:38:40.123+00:00You are a god. I'd just nicely given up on the idea of using a DECT module (only £3k for the dev kit) and resigned myself to having to interface to an old DECT phones keypad, and there you are having done it all.
Did you see that BlueTooth and GSM rotary phones are available from here - http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/categories.php?c=96 ?Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13928385662963716186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8710011163444542200.post-53421792081088641042009-11-15T20:50:19.917+00:002009-11-15T20:50:19.917+00:00I want one.I want one.jeff with a Jhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01425583780620365063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8710011163444542200.post-12209096152244888142009-07-28T22:12:37.909+01:002009-07-28T22:12:37.909+01:00Bravo -- simply great.Bravo -- simply great.Tim McLaurinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03733579570109716993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8710011163444542200.post-22229281684148885372009-07-28T20:41:36.160+01:002009-07-28T20:41:36.160+01:00Yep, I reckon I can do that :)Yep, I reckon I can do that :)Dropticalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11092006604292858530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8710011163444542200.post-45360232454650365422009-07-28T20:24:46.431+01:002009-07-28T20:24:46.431+01:00Amazing.
